One of the most common and beautiful timber indigenous to Southern Africa (Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia and South Africa). The brown heartwood of Kiaat is resistant to woodborer insects and termites and is durable. The attractive light brownish-yellow wood is stable during drying and polishes well. Sapwood is clearly distinct and common even in highest grades. Kiaat is a sought-after timber for furniture, parquet flooring and veneer.
